General Surgeon
Dr Mairi McLaren is a General Surgeon, who has completed further subspecialty training in hepatobiliary surgery and hernia surgery.
Dr McLaren is a graduate of the Griffith University Medical School, and completed her General Surgery training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. During her surgical training, Dr McLaren spent an additional 12 months working with Associate Professor Kellee Slater in her Abdominal Wall Reconstruction practice at Greenslopes Private Hospital. Dr McLaren gained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2020, whereafter she was selected for national Postgraduate Fellowship Training on the AANZHPBA Hepatobiliary training program. Dr McLaren completed her AANZHPBA fellowship with postings to The Canberra Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney.
Dr McLaren is delighted to have settled back in Brisbane, and joins Associate Professor Slater in her practice at Greenslopes Private Hospital. She is a Senior Lecturer with the University of Queensland School of Medicine. Dr McLaren offers a comprehensive General Surgery service and is credentialed with GESA to perform upper endoscopies and colonoscopies, in addition to her special interest caring for complex hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction patients.
